Without wasting any of your precious time, let’s clarify that if you are looking for a tire other than track race, then there are multiple better options available in other categories; however, for fast track driving, there are hardly any better tires than this Falken Azenis RT660+.

It is a new tire and a successor to RT660. Multiple improvements have been made over the previous model, including weight, speed, fuel efficiency, wet performance, and durability. We will discuss the comparison later in this review.

For a brief intro, the Azenis RT660+ has perfect cornering, especially at a fast pace. It performs brilliantly on tracks, especially once it gets heated. Grip, traction, response, and control are top-notch. A few bad things about this tire are its durability and life. This tire is not a long-term tire; you can expect a maximum of 10 K miles on tracks. Prices are high, although this category is known for a higher price range, it is still expensive.

For the purpose this tire is made, it exceeds its expectations. The driving joy on tracks with this tire is incredible, and these tires might be the only reason why you are not winning weekend races.

Now lets talk about everything in detail, to help you evaluate this tire with other tires, and make you pick the best tire for your performance vehicle. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Tread Features and Built

The tire this slick itself says that it is made for fast tracks and sports cars. It features a broad straight center rib without any sipes or notches, which makes it a smoother tire to drive and achieve responsive handling and control.

With that, wide shoulder blocks on both sides provide superior control on corners and achieve a safe turn at high speeds, providing you with an advantage over other race car drivers. The tire also features circumferential grooves for enhanced performance on wet tracks and rainy sessions. The deep notches on shoulder blocks enhance the traction and grip in dry and wet conditions.

Track Traction and Grip

As already mentioned, this Falken Azenis RT660+ tire is built for improved track performance, and the tread design totally supports fast speed traction and grip. The tire delivers a safe grip on dry corners and provides quick maneuvers for safe turns and exits on fast tracks.

At first or after a long rest, it might not perform as well as when it gets heated. Once it picks up its heat, this tire becomes a different tire performance-wise. So, overall, the grip and traction on tracks are phenomenal with this tire.

Handling, Brakes, and Response on Track

The wider contact area and straight tread design improve this tire’s handling and response stability on fast tracks. With this tire, you can achieve a straight line smoother ride with full control over your vehicle due to the safe and controlled handling response. You easily skip past the drive on the front with quick and responsive handling.

This is a lightweight tire, so the speed and braking performance of an older version of the tire have improved a lot. This new Falken Azenis RT660+ provides a safe brake and quick acceleration, which is ideal for motor race events. With this tire, you will surely improve your rankings from last month’s race weekends.

Track Life Span

No tire can be perfect, nor can this tire. The durability of this tire tread is not something to be proud of. If you moderately drive on tracks and city roads, then there are chances that you might achieve more than 15K miles driven.

However, if you only drive on fast race tracks, then getting 10K miles from this tire will be more than enough.  So you can not expect much from this tire when it comes to the lifespan of its rubber. Anyways, this tire is not made for higher miles in the first place, which is why if you are looking for improved performance on race tracks, only then get this tire; otherwise, it will be a complete waste of your money, and the traits of this tire.

Wet and Rain Overall Performance

Lets move on from dry track performance and talk about how this tire performs in wet and rainy seasons.

When it comes to wet conditions, this is not the best wet tire, You can achieve smooth handling response, safer and stable grip and traction, quick brakes and acceleration as well, however, the performance is not the best as compared to wet-specific track tires.

It is a far better tire than full slick tire on wet conditions, it does everything perfectly however, in the context of race and fast pace drives, it lacks a bit, especially compared to this tire’s performance on dry seasons.

Comparison with Other 200TW Tires

Falken Azenis RT660+ Vs RT660

The Falken Azenis RT660 is an older version of the RT660+ tire. As stated by the company itself, the tire has improved in weight, speed, brakes, heat management, handling response and quick corners drive.

And these are not only the stated words, this is a factual statements, and if you are a driver of 660, then you will certainly feel the difference in this newer 660+ tire. With all these performance improvements, this tire has also more durable treadwear than its predecessor.

Falken Azenis RT660+ Vs Toyo Proxes R888R

Toyo Proxes R888R is a extreme performance tire specifically made for autotrack races, which means it is not a tire for normal everyday drie, it is made for sporting event and tracks races. Compared to that, the Falken Azenis 600+ is a much versatile tire and great for different purpose.

When it comes to track performance, this Toyo tire might provide a bit better performance on tracks, but this will be the case in first race, due to weaker tread life, the tire get worse with every race, which is not the case with Azenis RT660+. So if you are prepared to change tire on every race, then go with this Proxes R888R tire, otherwise Azenis RT660+ will be a far better choice for you.

Falekn Azenis RT660+ Vs Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

The Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 is an excellent tire and has ben around for many years. The reputation of this tire make it a reliable choice for everyday driver and fast track enthusiast. However when iot comes to comparission with Azenis RT660+, the firestone tire is not the best option for fast tracks.

No doubt this is a far more durable tire, providesa  more comfortable drive, and comes at a lower price range, however when it comes to stable and responsive rides on fast tracks, the Azenis RT660+ is a far better opinion and much suited choice for the fast track drivers.

Final Suggestions

So as you can see compared to other tires, this Falken Azenis RT660+ is a great tire to drive on the road of 2025. However if you are not someone who mostly drive on fast tracks, then i would suggest that, thisa is not the tire made for you, there are better options available for you like above mentioned Firestone tire. This Falken tire is perfect for trackswith sports cars other than that, it is not the best option for your vehicle.
